aaron's story

When Aaron's father passed away, he lost a roommate. His sister lost a lot of hope.

Aaron's sister Diana and her husband Robert knew the weight of what they were facing. With Aaron's father gone, the question of how to care for a young adult with developmental needs fell on them. They loved Aaron deeply. But the road ahead felt overwhelming, and the future they wanted for him, one of independence, purpose, and joy, felt out of reach.

Then they found Shepherd's Way.

After moving in with trained live-in mentors in Waco, Aaron's life began to change. His mentor Daniel walks alongside him every day, teaching him practical life skills and offering the kind of consistent, genuine friendship that makes real growth possible. Aaron has learned meal preparation, household responsibilities, and how to navigate his community with growing confidence. He works at a local Waco coffee shop, building toward a career that is his own.

Diana and Robert no longer see a future defined by dependence and isolation. They see the happiest Aaron has ever been. And they see a path forward they did not know existed.

"Shepherd's Way has been a huge blessing for us. Aaron was feeling lost. But now he's the happiest he's ever been."
Diana and Robert, Aaron's sister and brother-in-law
