Who We Are

A home. A mentor. A future.

Shepherd's Way Waco is a faith-rooted organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual disabilities to live independent, community-engaged, and purpose-driven lives. Here is how we got here, what we believe, and why it matters.

Our model is simple: two mentors and two participants in a four-bedroom house. What happens inside is transformative. Participants gain practical independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, employment, and community involvement, while mentors gain invaluable leadership experience. Both grow. Both win.

We believe every person, regardless of ability, has unique gifts the world needs to see.

our program

More than a place to live. A framework for a full life.

Our residential program pairs each participant with a compatible mentor in a shared four-bedroom home. Together, they work through four key areas of independent living: building skills, confidence, and community at every step.

Vocational Skills

Finding purpose through meaningful work. Job readiness, employment support, and career exploration.

Community Integration

Belonging in the wider world utilizing tools like social skills, relationships, volunteering, and civic participation.
